Which model it is
The single biggest factor. A current-generation Pro or Ultra is worth several times a mid-range handset from the same year, and value drops fastest in the first twelve months after a launch.
Storage capacity
Higher-capacity versions of the same model are worth more, and the gap widens on Pro and Ultra devices where the larger tiers were expensive new.
Condition of the screen and body
Assessed in three bands — excellent, good and fair — using the guide further down this page. A cracked screen or a failing battery moves a device down a band; scuffs on the frame usually do not.
Whether it powers on and is unlocked
The device has to switch on, hold a charge, and be signed out of Find My iPhone or Google account lock. A locked device cannot be accepted at any value, which is the one thing worth checking before you set off.

What phones can I trade in at Bolt Wireless?

Can I trade in a phone with a cracked screen?
Yes, we accept phones with cracked screens at a reduced trade-in value. The device must still power on and be functional. Severe water damage or phones that do not turn on may not qualify.
Can I trade in a phone I bought from another carrier?
Absolutely. We accept trade-ins regardless of where or when you purchased the device. Phones from Rogers, Bell, Freedom, or any other carrier are welcome — as long as the device is not blacklisted or reported stolen.
Do I need to factory reset my phone before trading it in?
We recommend backing up your data and performing a factory reset before you visit. You should also sign out of iCloud (iPhone) or your Google account (Android) and disable Find My iPhone or Google Device Lock. Our staff can assist if needed.
Can I combine my trade-in credit with TELUS or Koodo financing?
Yes! Your trade-in credit can be applied as a down payment on a new phone purchased through TELUS Device Financing or Koodo Tab. This reduces your monthly payments or upfront cost.
How quickly do trade-in values change?
Trade-in values decrease over time as newer models are released. After a major product launch (like a new iPhone), older model values typically drop. We recommend trading in sooner rather than later to maximize your return.
