What does "unlimited" actually mean on TELUS plans?
On the TELUS Ultimate plan ($95/mo), unlimited means truly unlimited — no data caps, no speed throttling, no overage charges, period. On the Essential ($75/mo) and Plus ($85/mo) plans, you get a high-speed data allotment (50 GB or 100 GB respectively). After that, your data continues to work but at reduced speeds. You are never charged overage fees on any TELUS unlimited plan.
Is 5G included with TELUS unlimited plans?
Yes. All current TELUS unlimited plans include 5G network access at no additional cost. You simply need a 5G-capable device and to be in a 5G coverage area. When 5G is not available, your phone automatically falls back to the TELUS 4G LTE network.
How does TELUS unlimited compare to Rogers and Bell?

Yes. TELUS offers significant multi-line discounts. Add a second line and save $10/month per line. Three lines save $15/month each. Four or more lines save $20-$25/month each. Family members can mix and match different plan tiers (Essential, Plus, or Ultimate) on the same account while still receiving the multi-line discount.
What happens if I exceed my data on the Essential or Plus plan?
You will never be charged overage fees. If you exceed your premium data allotment (50 GB on Essential, 100 GB on Plus), your data continues to work at reduced speeds for the remainder of your billing cycle. You can still browse, use messaging apps, and stream at lower quality. Speeds return to full at the start of your next cycle.
Can I use my unlimited plan as a mobile hotspot?
Yes. All TELUS unlimited plans allow you to use your phone as a mobile hotspot, sharing your data connection with laptops, tablets, and other devices. Hotspot data counts toward your plan data allotment. The Ultimate plan is ideal for heavy hotspot users since it has no data cap or throttling.
Do TELUS unlimited plans include Canada-US roaming?
The Ultimate plan ($95/mo) includes 30 GB of Canada/US roaming data, making it ideal for cross-border travellers. Essential and Plus plans can add US roaming as an add-on. All plans include unlimited Canada-wide calling and international texting at no extra cost.
